POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The YMCA Membership and Programs Business Analyst plays a crucial role in enhancing member experience, supporting the organization's growth, and supporting membership and program goals by effectively analyzing and reporting data, processes, and systems. The Membership and Programs Business Analyst collaborates with stakeholders across departments to identify opportunities for improvement, develop data-driven decisions and solutions, and ensure that technology and processes contribute to member satisfaction and engagement.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Collaborate with stakeholders (Y staff, Y Members, etc.) to understand needs, ensure alignment, and gather information related to membership processes, systems, and programs.
  2. Create, manage, document, analyze, and refine business process models and workflows to build and maintain member engagement.
  3. Identify and propose opportunities for process optimization, document requirements and solutions, and research industry best practices and emerging technologies to contribute towards efficiency and member satisfaction. Collaborate with IT to implement proactive strategies, technical and process solutions, ensuring they meet requirements, integrate smoothly, and store member data in compliance with YMCA policy and applicable privacy laws.
  4. Find, analyze, and monitor trends in membership and program data to identify trends and support member acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies in Y facilities.
  5. Develop and maintain reporting tools for tracking membership metrics and program data (joins, cancellations, renewals, active units) to gain data-driven insights and decisions. 
  6. Create reports and visualizations to communicate insights, decisions, performance, and progress towards membership and program goals to stakeholders.
  7. Collaborate with Y staff to facilitate the adoption of new systems and processes by developing documentation, training materials, and leading training sessions for staff. Assist with change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions and stakeholder buy-in.
  8. Act as a liaison on cross-functional initiatives involving membership. Ensure timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication stay aligned with the objectives.
  9. Gather and interpret insights from the external market and member feedback to provide actionable recommendations that inform membership development and innovation. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field
    1. May be substituted with an associate’s degree and at least two years of related work experience
    2. May be substituted with at least 4 years of related work experience
  • At least three years of related experience in data analysis, database management, and data reporting.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including GA4 and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving, and systems analysis skills 
  • Experience with business process modeling, documentation tools, and knowledge of project management methodologies preferred but not required
  • Basic understanding of business analysis concepts and business acumen
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders, adapt, and continuously learn
  • Completion of YMCA required trainings upon hire
  • Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds

STARTING PAY: $31.25-$38.46/hour
