Mission Vet Urgent Care is the first exclusive urgent care facility for pets in the Cincinnati area. We are here to support the veterinary community at-large by providing a crucial middle ground between general practice and emergency medicine. Our clinic offers walk-in and same-day scheduled visits via a virtual online queue . This allows pet owners to wait from the comfort of their own homes prior to their arrival.

Location: 9302 Towne Square Avenue Blue Ash, Ohio 45242

 

Shift information:

Evenings and weekends required, shifts will be: 

Mon–Fri: 2 PM – 10 PM

Sat–Sun: 10 AM – 8 PM

 

Compensation:  $28-30/hr for credentialed technicians

The Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (LRVT) provides skilled medical care under the direction of a veterinarian while supporting hospital operations through oversight of the technical team. This role serves as a point of contact for medical support staff, helping to ensure high-quality patient care, efficient workflows, and consistent application of protocols. The LRVT provides mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership to other team members while fostering a collaborative and supportive hospital culture.

 

Note: The Registered Veterinary Technician title is used in the following states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements: California, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, and Oklahoma. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state. Responsibilities will be outlined by the state’s Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.

Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care:
As a veterinary technician, you will be responsible for providing compassionate and skilled care to our animal patients. This includes assisting in examinations, performing laboratory tests, administering medications, and monitoring the health and well-being of our patients. You will also play a crucial role in educating pet owners on proper animal care and treatment.
2. Leadership and Teamwork:
Our veterinary technicians are not just skilled technicians, but also leaders within our hospital. You will have the opportunity to provide leadership and mentorship to all team members, ensuring that our hospital operates smoothly and efficiently. We want to allow everyone in the hospital the opportunity to grow and learn from each other.
3. Client Communication:
Building strong relationships with our clients is essential to our practice. As a veterinary technician, you will be responsible for effectively communicating with pet owners, answering their questions, and providing guidance on pet care. Your expertise and compassion will be instrumental in establishing trust and ensuring client satisfaction.
4. Hospital Operations:
Veterinary technicians play a vital role in the overall operations of our hospital. You will assist in managing inventory, maintaining medical records, and ensuring compliance with regulations and protocols. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will contribute to the smooth running of our hospital.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
  • Current veterinary technician license in good standing in applicable state.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with composure.
  • Proficient in administering injections (SQ, IM, IV).
  • Knowledge of commonly used prescription drugs and their side effects.
  • Familiarity with anesthesia and recovery states.
  • Ability to mentor and provide guidance to team mates.
  • Passion for providing exceptional patient care.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds independently, and over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Capacity to sit, stand, and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in noisy environments with sounds from animals and medical equipment.
  • Routine exposure to animals that may bite or scratch.
  • Occasional exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medications/controlled substances.
  • Adequate hearing to understand verbal instructions and client communication.
  • Vision capabilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate medical equipment and computer systems.
