Position Summary

As a Senior Accountant at Oncor, you’re responsible for preparing, processing, reviewing, analyzing and reporting financial and statistical transactions for Oncor Electric Delivery, Oncor North Texas Utility (NTU) Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) and other affiliates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs monthly closing responsibilities including journal entry preparation and approval, account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Prepares and analyzes financial and operational information for Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting, Request for Information (RFI's) and audit inquiries.
  • Prepares and analyzes information used for inclusion in compliance filings with the Public Utility Commission of Texas, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and other regulatory authorities.
  • Prepares invoicing/billing changes to specific customer groups.
  • Prepare cost accounting analysis of various Oncor Electric Delivery Business Units.
  • Prepares various reports for management as requested.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of regulated industry practices and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Exposure to regulatory accounting environment such as knowledge of rate case filing package requirements, schedule and RFI preparation and rate case proceedings.
  • Proficiency in desktop business productivity software (g., Microsoft Office Suite products).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work across organizational lines and with other non-financial disciplines.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 3+ years of related work experience required.
  • Applicants with a Master’s Degree and/or licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are encouraged to apply.

  • Accurate and timely preparation of reports.
  • Accurate completion of journals and account reconciliations.
