Department Mission / Goals:  
Investigative services of a detailed nature to determine if the statutes and Rules and Regulations that govern and regulate the automotive industry, related businesses, recreational products, motor vehicle sales finance companies/lenders; administrators of GAP waiver and debt forgiveness agreements; and vehicle protection product warrantors are complied with. 

This posting is for the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission.

Position Summary 
The LMVC is seeking an individual to fill the Compliance Investigator 1,2,3 vacancy in our Investigative Department.  Compliance Investigators are professional employees with a good working knowledge of investigations of motor vehicle/recreational product dealers, manufacturers, distributors, as well as the financing of these products and GAP/Vehicle Protection products.  Compliance Investigators are expected to develop or possess effective verbal and written communication skills and work effectively with supervisors, team members and agency personnel. 

An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies: 
• Making Accurate Judgments: The ability to form an opinion objectively and decisively based on relevant information and in accordance with established standards.  
 Thinking Critically: The ability to generate ideas, manipulate ideas, and make unconventional connections to develop original approaches.  
• Using Data: The ability to use relevant and valid data to inform a recommendation for action. 

Position Duties

Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, administrative services, building inspection, real estate appraisal, law enforcement, investigations, or in the issuance or recommendation of medical licenses; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Other Qualifications

Job Duties :
- Review ads sent in by dealers/marketers for compliance and notify dealer/marketer of compliance/noncompliance. 
- Review consumer complaints received by the LMVC office and distribute to the appropriate personnel or perform investigation. 
- Review offsite display requests received and notify dealer of approval/non-approval. 
- Review offsite storage requests received and notify dealer of approval/non-approval. 
- Conduct requested Facility Inspections. 
- Conduct investigations of licensees/non-licensees to determine if they are abiding by the Louisiana Revised Statutes and LMVC Rules. 
- Review ads being used by licensees/non-licensees to verify compliance. 
- Conduct dealership sales finance reviews.

Appointment Type:   Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment

Career Progression:  This position does participate in a Career Progression Group.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

Compensation:  The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
