The Restaurant Shift Manager is responsible for assisting with all duties pertaining to front of the house operations for the casino during the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Duties include assisting with secretarial and administrative work, handling of interviews for the department and selecting new hires and handling training and development of all new staff. Also ensures the quality of food in the restaurant and deli establishments are exceeding the needs of our casino patrons while ensuring compliance with all established policies and procedures. Delegates work as needed, prepares daily reports as directed, makes menu recommendations and offerings and monitors food temperatures as needed. Also provides superior guest service while assisting guests of the casino with any dining inquiries and may assist with Food Server, Hostess and Busser duties as needed. Performs other job related duties as assigned by the department manager. 

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Associate degree or higher in hospitality management, business or related field

Experience & Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of one year of management experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment
  • Must have minimum of four years experience in full-service food and beverage operations
  • Must have knowledge in all aspects of front and back of the house operations
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have experience with computers and POS systems
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior guest service
  • Gaming experience and working with tribal entities is preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis
  • Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must have good manual and finger dexterity
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays

All applicants must obtain a Class III A license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is required for all positions. However, the use of marijuana will not disqualify an applicant unless the position requires driving a company vehicle.
