Join our dynamic team as a Payroll Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your attention to detail and expertise in payroll systems, contributing to the seamless operation of our organization's financial functions.

Job Responsibilities

- Process and manage payroll across four operating divisions containing 350 employees on a weekly basis.

- Calculate and verify employee hours, wages, and deductions including garnishments, levies, and other wage withholdings.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

- Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and best practices.

- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies.

- Document all transactions related to an employee’s wage.

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax filings.

- Generate and distribute employee W-2s and other tax statements.

- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management.

- Coordinate with employees on payroll-related issues and updates.

- Maintain and update employee payroll records in the system.

- Manage direct deposit setups and changes for employees.

- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and inquiries from employees.

- Participate in audits by providing necessary payroll information and documentation.

- Perform system testing as required for software/hardware upgrades, implementations, and integrations.

Requirements

-Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing.

- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus, but not required.

- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Paylocity, ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms).

- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Knowledge of payroll best practices and compliance requirements.

- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.

- Experience with multi-state payroll processing is a plus.
