The Caring Place (@Miami Rescue Mission & Broward Outreach Centers) is a leading provider of services to the homeless and needy of South Florida. We are looking for like-minded, dynamic individuals to come and join our team. The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education & computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for “at-risk” youth.
We are currently seeking a FT Media Assistant at The Caring Place Central Office in Miami, FL,
JOB SUMMARY
The Media Assistant (MA) reports to the Media Manager (MM). This position assists supports the Media Manager in the creation, organization, and distribution of media content for The Caring Place @ Miami Rescue Mission | Broward Outreach Centers. This position plays a vital role in executing the organization’s media and communications strategies, including event coverage, social media support, and media outreach logistics. The Media Assistant will assist with digital content management, administrative coordination, and visual documentation at events. This includes capturing behind-the-scenes moments, uploading media files, maintaining folders, and assisting with content creation for newsletters, social platforms, and press packages.
CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with photographing and filming events and outreaches
- Support the Media Manager with social media tasks (caption writing, post scheduling, organizing content, KPI tracking, trends, content creation, etc.)
- Help manage and organize digital photo/video folders and media libraries
- Assist with distributing media alerts, press releases, and newsletters
- Perform general administrative tasks for the Media team (calendar support, scheduling, file management)
- Contribute to the planning and execution of media campaigns
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a collaborative work environment
- Interacts with supervisor, staff, volunteers, supporters and in-house residents in a pleasant and professional manner
- Assists supervisor in organizing offices and files and computer folders and outlook calendars
- Assist with execution of company-sponsored events and outreaches (such as graduations and community events) to support the residents we serve
- Will lead and/or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach events
- Must be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of Faith
- Performs other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a High School diploma or GED
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in a non-profit organization or general office setting
- At least one (1) year of experience in media, marketing, digital content, or communications
- Basic photo/video editing skills preferred (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools)
- Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Must be computer literate have experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with staff, vendors, volunteers, supporters and in-house residents in a professional and courteous manner
- Must be extremely organized and able to prioritize tasks
- A high level of accuracy and confidentiality is required
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively under deadlines
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to sit for extended periods, and have the ability to lift and/or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Must also be able to see, hear and speak, in order to interact with staff and the general public
- Must also be able to move around as needed to perform essential job duties
