Join our team as a Behavior Assistant/Technician where you will play a vital role in supporting the behavioral needs of our animal patients. You will work closely with our Behaviorist to provide animal care and support in various settings. Your role will involve utilizing your knowledge of animal husbandry, communications skills, and hands on training to assist in behavioral assessments and interventions.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assist the doctor in conducting behavioral assessments on animals to identify specific needs and behaviors.
- Take part in implement behavior modification plans.
- Provide enrichment activities to promote positive behaviors and mental stimulation.
- Assist in the training of animals to improve socialization and obedience.
- Maintain accurate records of observations, interventions, and progress.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure holistic care for animals.
- Follow established protocols for handling animals safely and with compassion.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous experience or knowledge in animal behavior, filling medications, or record keeping.
- Proficiency in online communications and social media modalities.
- Ability to perform tasks such as independent work, reviewing records, contacting trainers.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Passion for working with animals and promoting their well-being.
