At our skilled nursing facility in Cincinnati, we believe in providing exceptional care with compassion, respect, and dignity. We're seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our team and play a vital role in supporting our residents’ health, comfort, and quality of life.
As a Nursing Assistant, you'll be the heartbeat of daily care—assisting residents with essential activities, offering emotional support, and helping them live as independently and comfortably as possible.
Full-time, weekends and nights, 12-hr shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on care with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Assist with safe mobility and transfers, using proper techniques to protect both residents and yourself.
- Monitor and report changes in vital signs, behavior, or health status to licensed nursing staff.
- Support residents through the admission, transfer, and discharge processes, helping them feel welcome and comfortable.
- Encourage social engagement by participating in and escorting residents to activities, offering companionship and conversation.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment by assisting with room upkeep, infection control, and resident hygiene.
- Assist with meal service—setting up trays, feeding when needed, and recording intake per guidelines.
- Accurately document care and observations in compliance with facility policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with the care team in planning and goal-setting for each resident’s individualized care.
- Promote a positive, respectful work environment through professionalism, teamwork, and clear communication.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Active STNA license from the state of Ohio.
- On Nursing Assistant Registry in Ohio.
- CPR Certification.
- At least 2 years of experience as a licensed nursing assistant preferably in a skilled nursing facility.
- Compassionate, reliable individuals with a strong desire to care for older adults.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to resident dignity, safety, and well-being.
Physical Requirements:
- Work performed in a medical setting due to the need to care for residents in person.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and twist.
- Stamina to stand and move about the facility to perform frequent rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed.
- Emotional resilience and ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of working with residents who may have complex healthcare needs.
- Capability to lift and transfer residents safely, with proper body mechanics and assistance as needed.
- Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.
