Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, interview, and hire new team members and Assistant Store Managers, with input from the HR Department.
- Coach and develop team members for success, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations.
- Establish and supervise work schedules, manage time-off requests, and handle personnel conflicts as needed.
Store Operations:
- Oversee daily store activities, ensuring smooth operations, including inventory control, financial performance, and customer service.
- Implement store policies, procedures, and safety standards to maintain a clean, well-organized, and efficient store.
- Ensure all electronic equipment and systems (POS, security, etc.) are properly programmed, maintained, and in full working order.
Financial Management:
- Set sales and profit goals for the store, manage cash handling, and investigate cash variances and inventory discrepancies.
- Prepare and review financial reports, and collaborate with the District Manager to review store performance.
- Ensure expenses are within budget, including payroll, inventory, and store maintenance costs.
Vendor Relations:
- Work with vendors to secure favorable pricing, quality products, and service agreements.
- Verify product deliveries, check-in procedures, and ensure all billing invoices are accurate.
Customer Service:
- Create a positive shopping experience for customers by maintaining a clean, friendly, and welcoming store environment.
- Handle customer complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a customer “Want” list and respond quickly to changes in customer preferences and needs.
Safety & Security:
- Implement and oversee safety protocols to protect team members, customers, and company property.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conduct safety audits, and take corrective actions when necessary.
Store Maintenance:
- Ensure the store is clean, well-lit, and properly stocked, and that all equipment and fixtures are in good working condition.
- Prevent losses due to spoilage, damage, theft, and poor housekeeping practices.
Employee Engagement & Development:
- Recognize and engage team members through employee recognition programs and team-building initiatives.
- Lead ongoing training and development to ensure all team members are proficient in operational procedures, customer service, and safety protocols.
- Manage employee performance and conduct coaching or disciplinary actions as needed.
Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, schools, and community groups.
- Encourage and participate in community outreach programs and local events that support our mission.
Environmental Sustainability:
- Identify and implement sustainable practices, such as recycling programs and energy-saving initiatives, to align with the company’s sustainability goals.
**Qualifications:**
- Retail management experience is strongly preferred.
- Business degree or relevant background preferred; high school diploma required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles is a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to perform manual labor when necessary.
- Positive, customer-focused attitude with the ability to lead a team.
