The 6th Grade Math Teacher at CAK will be responsible for delivering engaging, dynamic, standards-aligned instruction that cultivates mathematical thinking and problem-solving. The teacher will foster a nurturing and spiritually enriching learning environment, encouraging both academic excellence and personal growth.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct and Engage: Deliver lectures, facilitate discussions, and use visual aids and other effective teaching methods to ensure student comprehension. Foster a passion for academic excellence and character development, preparing students for lifelong success.
- Prepare Curriculum: Develop course objectives and outlines following state and school curriculum guidelines.
- Monitor and Adjust: Carefully track student progress, making necessary instructional adjustments to ensure their success. Administer tests, record results, and prepare reports to inform parents of their child's progress.
- Maintain Classroom Standards: Keep accurate attendance records, ensure discipline, assign lessons, and grade homework promptly.
- Family Communication: Communicate regularly with families as partners in their children's education.
- Professional Development: Participate in faculty meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
- Additional Responsibilities: Sponsor student activities or organizations, assist students in selecting their course of study, and provide academic counseling and support.
- Collaboration: Offer collaborative support to teachers, staff, and parents.
- Professionalism: Demonstrate proactive behavior, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills. Exhibit strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal abilities. Maintain attention to detail, timely implementation, and high-quality performance.
- Integrity and Conduct: Consistently demonstrate honesty, integrity, discretion, and sound judgment. Uphold high professional standards of behavior and dress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Prior experience teaching middle school math is preferred.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to Christian education and the mission of CAK.
The Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) teacher must be a spiritually sensitive individual who understands the school's mission and philosophy. The teacher must be a born-again Christian with spiritual maturity and the academic and leadership abilities necessary to teach God’s truth. Skills in effective communication with diverse individuals, appropriately handling confidential information, and maintaining a courteous, professional, and respectful attitude and integrity in all situations are prerequisites.
