About the job
Our downtown location, Elephants at World Trade Center, features everything you love about our Flying Elephants, plus a full grill, and is located only two blocks away from the waterfront! This location serves downtown lunch regulars and tourists, and it features an open kitchen, so all our employees engage with customers.
We are looking for an energetic Line Lead to help train and make menu items from the hot food line. Personal motivation and teamwork are imperative. This position requires exemplary hospitality and active customer service, knowledge of specialty and high-end products, and efficient workflow.
Our ideal candidate will have a year of leadership experience, a few years of cooking experience, strong organizational and knife skills, and will feel comfortable with training other team members! As this is an open kitchen, the applicant must enjoy and be consistently oriented toward customer service and be self-aware during all interactions.
Job duties:
- Lead by example
- Oversee organization and cleanliness of the station, food, and equipment.
- Heat, prep, stock, temp, and prepare food according to Elephants Deli and Health Department standards
- Promote and upsell regular items and specials throughout each shift.
- Listen to the customer and be accurate in making every order.
- Help, motivate, lead, and inspire staff throughout the day.
- Monitor food presentation and quality.
- Serve as kitchen manager – to open and close the store.
