Nurse Practitioner – Cancer Genetic Risk Assessment (CGRA) Certified
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified Nurse Practitioner (NP) with specialized training and certification in Cancer Genetic Risk Assessment (CGRA) to join our interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will hold an MSN, be a licensed RN and APN, and maintain certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). This NP will play a critical role in delivering personalized care by assessing genetic risk, ordering appropriate genetic testing, and communicating results and next steps to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments with a focus on personal and family history to identify genetic risk factors.
- Perform and document clinical genetics risk assessments.
- Educate patients on genetic testing, including its purpose, process, and potential implications.
- Order and interpret appropriate genetic tests in collaboration with the supervising physician and genetic counselors.
- Deliver test results to patients, providing clear explanations and discussing the clinical and emotional implications.
- Coordinate care with specialists, genetic counselors, and other providers as necessary.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential patient records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and contribute to patient management plans.
- Stay informed on advances in genetics, genomics, and precision medicine.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards in genetic testing and patient care.
Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
- Current and unrestricted RN and APN licenses.
- Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) in good standing.
- Certification in Cancer Genetic Risk Assessment (CGRA) required.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with preference for genetics or oncology.
- Strong knowledge of genetic principles, hereditary syndromes, and current genetic testing technologies.
- Exceptional communication skills to explain complex concepts to diverse patient populations.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical standards in genetic practice.
