ELECTRON BEAM WELD OPERATOR

Role purpose:

ITP Aero UK is recruiting for a Electron Beam Weld Operator, to join our growing team in Hucknall - UK - on a full-time permanent basis, 38 hours per week on a 3-shift pattern.

Your main responsibilities / What you will do:

• Completing practical welding tasks in accordance with the production plan.
• Working with a team to deliver customer requirements.
• Understanding and identifying basic welding defects.
• Understand the importance of equipment calibration, and how it fits into the welding process.
• Understand measuring and correcting procedures.

Who we are looking for:

Essential Criteria

• Possesses a recognised time-served advance apprenticeship within an Engineering discipline at NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds Level 3, or BTEC national or equivalent qualification.
• Experience/knowledge of automated electron beam welding as well as core manual tig welding in a high volume manufacturing cell.
• GCSE Maths and English.
• Base level I.T literacy.

Desirable criteria

• A background in aerospace engineering.
• Knowledge of quality tools, systems, and procedures, good interpersonal skills, has worked in a customer focused environment that is subject to change, has worked to set deadlines to achieve performance targets and customer delivery commitments, has participated in continuous review and improvement processes.

You will work at ITP Aero from its site in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire under the guidance of professionals with extensive experience in the sector in a leading company in aeronautical engines and components that ranks among the top companies in the global aeronautical industry.

What are the working hours?

Following a 3-Shift Pattern:

Mornings:      6.00 am – 2.12 pm Monday-Friday

Afternoons:   1.48 pm – 9.30 pm Monday-Thursday

                     1.48 pm – 7.00 pm Friday

Nights:          9.00 pm – 6.15 am Monday-Thursday

Some production areas have the option of opting in to a voluntary 24/6 shift pattern once suitably trained.
