About the Position

SARS is looking for a goal-driven specialist IT Solutions Support Engineer, a professional with a proven record to provide expertise, advice, and support in practice formulation and associated best practice improvement tactics by ensuring sustainability of SARS software, systems, and technologies with extensive knowledge of systems development methodologies, frameworks, techniques, concepts, and principles with emphasis on Agile methodology. An Individual with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and distributed systems support skills. Software and hardware asset management, IT configuration management database, and associated tools. scripting and programming skills and understanding and working on different flavours of operating systems will provide an additional advantage.

 

 

Job Purpose

To manage and improve a significant portion of the existing integrated SARS applications throughout their life cycle by performing complex integrated support, helps in testing, operating and improving IT services within IT User Support.

 

 

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualification & Experience Required

Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Information Technology/Computer Science AND 5-7 years' experience in Distributed Systems Support, of which 2-3 years ideally at functional specialist level specialist level.

 

OR

 

Senior Certificate (NQF 4) AND Relevant IT Qualification(s) /Certification(s) in Information Technology/Computer Science AND 5-7 years’ experience in a Distributed Systems Support environment, of which 2-3 years is at functional specialist level specialist level.
