Distribution Centre and Facility Manager

Role Overview

  • As a member of the Distribution Centre (Asia, DC) Team, to do everything possible to help the Company achieve its aims and objectives. Support and contribute to the overall mission of the Company
  • To promote the good image of the Company by providing a top-quality service. To provide a professional service to support the sales effort with priority being always given to the customer.
  • Abide by the working rules and regulations of the Company and actively promote the policies of the Company.
    Positively contribute in whatever way possible to the achievement of the team’s objectives.

Key responsibilities

Warehouse:

  • Ensure the warehouse is operated in a safe, secure, clean and proper manner following all company procedures related to the complete operational requirements and to the highest standard.
  • Management of day-to-day warehousing, transportation & logistics activities for the Singapore DC.
  • Supervise a team of warehouse personnel to ensure effective receiving and delivery activities for the DC operations; Ensure the services and performance targets set for this function are achieved or surpassed.
  • Maintain high inventory integrity and accuracy level to company targets.
  • Produce regular stock reports and KPI’s, as required, with improvement action plans.
  • Coordinate the maintenance & up-keeping warehouse facility, Work closely with Landlord for any issues.
  • Establish & implement Procedures in accordance to the company Policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead & implement continuous improvement activities leading to drive higher EHS standards, productivity and cost savings.
  • Control of all warehouses overhead and expense costs according to the annual budget.
  • Identify training and development needs for the team

Planning and Logistics:

  • Manage freight forwarders to optimize logistics operation.
  • Ensure that the team performs Planning Management process from order taking, planning and delivers to local and overseas customers to meet customer expectation and requirements.
  • Ensure that shipment and documentation aligned with the customer’s order.
  • Develop purchasing procedures, policies and standards for purchase Management processes.
  • Ensure all transaction perform are in accordance to company Policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides ongoing analysis on the supply planning, identify area of improvements as well as review and revise the planning parameters regularly to reflect the business needs.
  • Participate in the review of inventory levels and warehouse capacity, initiate and coordinate necessary product movements to prevent out of stocks and out of date issues as well as overstock/ warehouse capacity issues.
  • Liaison with internal & external suppliers on the production forecast and inventory planning to ensure minimum supply lead-time

Facility:

  • Responsible for the overall physical infrastructure maintenance, and operational efficiency of the warehouse and building facility to support the business needs effectively.
  • Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of warehouse facilities, including lifting cranes, lighting, racking systems, packaging equipment, and utilities.
  • Manage and schedule maintenance and emergency repairs for all building systems and equipment.
  • Ensure facility compliance with EHS safety regulations
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to building maintenance, janitorial services, pest control, security, landscaping, etc.
  • Coordinate and supervise renovation, expansion, or relocation projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance schedules, repairs, and facility-related incidents.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years management experience in supply chain in manufacturing/distribution environment or as logistics service provider.
  • A self-motivated energetic team player with good problem-solving skills.
  • People manager to lead, manage, develop and motivate a highly effective team.
  • Analytical, meticulous, patient and customer-oriented attitude.
  • Computer literate with frequent application of MS programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edward etc. will be the added advantage.
  • Hands on experience on implement and using barcoding system.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.
  • Exposure in a diverse multi-cultural workplace is an added advantage.

Education

  • Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
  • Degree in Engineering with planning/supply chain working experience would be an added advantage
