As a Ship Broker, you will negotiate and fix spot cargoes and allocate contract cargoes to ships to maximize financial returns.

What you will be doing
As a Ship Broker, you will be responsible for negotiation and fixing spot cargoes on various routes and allocating contract cargoes to assigned ships to maximize the vessels financial results within the prevailing market conditions.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for fixing spot cargoes on various routes on assigned ships in order that profit can be maximized given market conditions or strategic goals to be met
Obtain fixing authority for vessels from various sources depending on service and manager
Coordinate with COA customers to receive nomination on time and build programs which fit vessel schedules
Coordinate with chartering and operations department to maximize space utilization, minimize port calls and make the voyage as profitable as possible
Maintain up-to-date voyage records and documentation to the customers for the tonnage loading within service
Maintain contact with customers and potential customers of Stolt-Nielsen
Maintain a thorough knowledge of all relevant charter party forms and company standard terms
Prepare voyage profit/loss reports and travel reports.
Identify and notify management of potential market opportunities
Coordinate all aspects of transshipment for those cargoes for which he is responsible
Authorize the release of a bill of lading if this is to be done prior to collecting the freight
Handles ad hoc projects as assigned by Management
Actively markets Stolt Tankers services at all customer levels and support cross divisional business opportunities
Job requirements
Minimum 3 - 5 years outside chartering / operations tanker experience or one year Stolt-Nielsen Assistant Shipbroker experience.
A college education is required with maritime specialty desired.
Responsible for ensuring all fixtures have optimal charter party terms
Ad hoc projects as assigned by Management.
Operations experience or in-house training is desired.
- Personal computer proficiency with knowledge of various software packages desirable.
