Are you a highly skilled and experienced professional passionate about ensuring top-tier equipment availability and reliability in the mining machinery sector?

 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Maintenance / Contract Manager to lead maintenance operations for both surface and underground mining equipment. This role is critical in ensuring equipment availability, reliability, and performance through strategic planning, condition monitoring, and the application of industry best practices.

This position offers significant career progression within our Parts and Service Department, with clear pathways to roles such as Service Operations Manager, Technical Manager, and Business Development Manager.

 

What You Will Be Doing

 

  • Champion customer-focused technical support to ensure top-tier satisfaction.
  • Strategically plan and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance.
  • Analyse equipment performance data, identify improvement opportunities, and conduct root cause analysis on failures.
  • Elevate Epiroc machine performance by implementing value-added services across all underground machines on site.
  • Drive business development through Rigscan assessments and uncover new service opportunities.
  • Lead safety campaigns, communicate service news, and implement underground product upgrades.
  • Recommend parts to optimize fleet coverage and ensure operational continuity.
  • Manage warranty claims and safety campaigns with precision and care.
  • Provide 24/7 product support for both surface and underground equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Product Company on technical improvements and TSNBs.
  • Partner with the Training Lead to develop impactful training programs for internal and external customers.
  • Support the Sales Team in underground business tendering and proposals.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit

 

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering; or Trade qualification with strong electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance management within mining or heavy industry environments.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with underground and surface mining equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, electronics, RCS).
  • Proven experience working with mining contractors and managing site-based maintenance teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of heavy mining equipment including drills, loaders, trucks, and crushers. 
  • Strong background in preventive and predictive maintenance, including condition monitoring and failure analysis.

 

Skills & Competencies 

 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data and schematics.
  • Expertise in reliability engineering concepts such as FMEA, reliability block diagrams, and predictive modeling.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
  • Effective leadership and team management capabilities, with a focus on safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic planning and project management experience.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
