Purpose of the Job
Oxitec is seeking a highly motivated Buyer to join our team in Brazil. The candidate on this position will be responsible for guaranteeing that all purchase requisitions will be executed on time and that internal departments receive their products and services as needed and under the best possible commercial conditions. The associate of this area doesn’t only buy products and services but also create opportunities to the business and to the entire supply chain. We need to “buy well, to sell well”. A problem-solving and can-do mind set are essential. In addition, the ideal candidate stands out as a strong team player with excellent communication and analytical skills and shows great enthusiasm for Oxitec's mission.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all requisitions on system are executed within the deadline and under the best commercial conditions (price and payment term).
- Develop strategies for negotiation with national and international suppliers.
- Contract management.
- Management and monitoring of suppliers.
- Lead Procurement Projects and BIDs.
- Continuous search for alternative sources of supply.
- Manage import and export procedures, issuing and checking documents related, monitoring all stages of the processes and securing a good communication among the parties involved.
- Management of KPIs and action plans to achieve goals.
- Lead and encourage the continuous improvement of Procurement processes.
- Comply with the Quality Program procedures and policies, as well as H&S standards.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economy, or related areas.
- Experience as buyer (3 to 5 years).
- Experience in development and supplier qualification.
- Experience in executing BIDS (RFQ, RFP).
- Well-developed project management and planning skills.
- Strong drive for cost reduction and optimization.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
- Advanced English level.
- Knowledge and experience in international trade is desirable
