JOB SUMMARY

The Mechanical Technician role is to insure efficiencies of all required processes for the Production Departments.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Mechanical Technician is part of the Production Department and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, Americas and bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Repair and maintain production machinery, equipment, and tooling in accordance with company and manufacturers standards.
• Ensure scheduled PM’s are performed on time, and to process.
• Work with production personnel to develop simple manufacturing devices for a variety of purposes, primarily related to safety, ergonomic, process improvement, and new processes.
• Assist in the design, break-down, and set-up of assembly cells and their related equipment.
• Facilitate and coordinate fabrication, repairs, and maintenance from outside sources.
• Maintain spare parts inventory for required production equipment.
• Record daily work in an operational data base or CMMS.
• Scope of responsibility includes but is not limited to: Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) conveyors, stacker cranes, bin stackersde-stackers, elevators, all assembly work cells, label printers, presses, assembly tools, hand and power tools, cable pinning machines, actuator final test machines, parameterization tools and the like.
• May provide assembly related measurement tools and written reports.
• Ensure general organization and cleanliness of assigned work areas.

REQUIREMENTS

• Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology or equivalent technical training and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience in manufacturing environment maintaining production equipment.
• Knowledge/Skill of Electro-mechanical systems and Manufactured Product Test equipment
• Strong interpersonal skills, must be customer service oriented.
• Operation of band saw, drill press, milling machine, lathe etc.
• Lean manufacturing experience.
• Ability to design and fabricate simple parts as needed.
• Must be able to climb ladders 40ft with provided safety harness gear, and be comfortable at that height
• Computer skills: MS Office, SAP, etc.
