Hybrid GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER bei Ambassador Bridge

The Ambassador Bridge is looking for Construction, Painters and Facility Maintenance crew members to join our outstanding team in Windsor, Ontario. Our construction and facility maintenance crew members cover a wide range of duties for preventative maintenance, repair and improvement to our facilities, structures and equipment.

Starting rate: Up To $33.09 per hour

General duties include but are not limited to:

· Plumbing

· Electrical

.HVAC

· Drywall installation and repair

· Painting – interior and exterior

· Tile installing and repair

· Concrete and paving work

· Operation of company vehicles on company property and public roadways (including snow plows)

· Operation of heavy equipment including backhoe, end loader and plow trucks

· Spot, MIG and/or TIG welding to repair and maintain equipment and structures as needed

· Diagnose and repair maintenance equipment and facility mechanicals on as needed basis

· Walk long distances as needed to address maintenance issues

· Operate, lift, transport and distribute supplies such as snow blowers, salt bags, shop vacs, fertilizer, etc.

· Potential aerial work with lifts and cranes at heights up to 150 feet.

Qualified candidates must have the following:

· Able to stand, walk, crouch stoop and sit for varying times during shifts up to 12 hours long

· Safely use hand tools and power tools such as wrenches, pliers, saws, drills, torches, etc.

· Lift and carry 50 pounds for sustained distances

· Have a high school diploma or equivalent

· Have at least 3 years of general maintenance and/or facilities repair experience

· Prior exposure to operating construction/maintenance equipment such as backhoe and end loader

· At least 3 years’ experience in welding steel (preferred)

· Experience in underground work such as utilities, sewer, and placement of concrete (preferred)

· Class D or DZ Commercial Drivers’ License (preferred)
