Introduction:

We're seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our growing team at SymphonyAI Retail in Madrid, Spain. In this role, you'll be instrumental in implementing and supporting our AI-powered retail solutions, working directly with clients to optimize their retail operations.

 

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills to deliver exceptional customer service and drive successful project outcomes.

Job Description:

What You'll Do:

  • Provide technical consulting and implementation support for SymphonyAI Retail solutions.
  • Design, develop, and optimize custom solutions using Oracle databases and PL/SQL, including ETL workflows, data models, and database objects (views, triggers, stored procedures).
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot client environments using Linux systems; develop and maintain Bash and Unix shell scripts for automation and system integration tasks.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions, ensuring data consistency and quality.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical and data-related issues; perform performance tuning and root cause analysis for Oracle databases.
  • Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams—business analysts, data scientists, and software engineers—to deliver successful project implementations and integrations.
  • Support system integrations and data migrations from legacy systems and diverse data sources into Oracle environments.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and data governance standards.
  • Conduct technical training sessions and presentations for clients and internal teams.
  • Participate in client meetings to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, and deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Keep abreast of Oracle innovations, cloud platforms, and industry best practices to continuously improve our technology stack.

What You Need:

  • 5+ years of experience working with Oracle databases and PL/SQL development, including performance tuning and advanced query optimization.
  • Strong experience with Linux operating systems and Bash scripting for automation and environment configuration.
  • Proven knowledge of programming languages (Java or JavaScript preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools, data integration, and data migration techniques.
  • Experience with Oracle database administration, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance in production environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Experience in retail or supply chain technology is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a global project team.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong presentation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
