Job Summary

The Application Engineer will collaborate closely with the Sales & Marketing Team to create proposals and design material handling systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong eagerness to learn about the material handling industry and contribute to the development of system designs and equipment applications. At Bastian Solutions, Application Engineers enjoy a high level of responsibility and autonomy in decision-making. This role offers exposure to the latest technologies in the dynamic material handling field, including conveyors, sorters, ASRS, robotics, AMR/AGVs, and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Design equipment with detailed specifications for customer approval.
• Develop pre-sales material handling equipment GA layout drawings based on RFQ inputs.
• Create detailed SolidWorks 3D models and AutoCAD 2D drawings.
• Report to the Senior Design/Application Engineer and collaborate closely with the USA team.
• Participate in internal and external customer reviews, providing conceptual solutions to support the sales team.
• Travel to customer sites across India as needed to assess and understand customer requirements.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 2-3 years of experience in an Automated Material Handling environment, including designing unit handling and pallet handling conveyor layout drawings.
• Basic knowledge of sorters and ASRS systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks 3D software; ability to learn custom CAD software.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge related to design and application.
• Excellent organizational and scheduling skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Team-oriented mindset and proactive participation in meetings.
