About the role:

As a Senior Corporate Accountant (L2) you play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the Group’s companies. You take on advanced responsibilities in managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with both Luxembourgish and Spanish GAAP, and driving key accounting processes. You serve as a bridge between accounting operations and strategic financial management, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, while also mentoring junior members.

With your experience and expertise, you involve oversight of complex accounting tasks, contributing to financial decision-making, and assisting with group-wide consolidation and financial strategy. 

This position is based in Girona and reports directly to the Head of Finance.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial operations of the Group’s companies, ensuring compliance with Luxembourgish and Spanish GAAP and managing day-to-day financial activities with minimal supervision.
  • Supervise and mentor junior corporate accountants, providing guidance and training to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial processes.
  • Oversee and review the reconciliation of all company accounts, ensuring precision and up-to-date maintenance of fixed asset records.
  • Manage and coordinate bank accounts, payments, and bank transfers, ensuring accurate processing and strong relationships with banking partners.
  • Lead the preparation and review of bank reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare, analyse, and review cash flow reports and cash analysis reports, contributing to strategic financial planning and liquidity management.
  • Take a lead role in the preparation of financial statements and consolidated accounts for monthly and quarterly review.
  • Review and ensure accuracy in tax returns and tax balances, maintaining strong relationships with tax authorities and external auditors.
  • Provide support in financial projects and strategic initiatives, taking ownership of specific financial processes or projects as needed.
  • Contribute to year-end closing and reporting, including quarterly reviews and progress reports for senior management.
  • Assist in improving accounting processes and systems, identifying areas for automation or increased efficiency, particularly with the use of Odoo and other financial systems.

  • You are able to analyse financial data and provide actionable insights, assisting in decision-making and financial planning at a higher level.
  • You are comfortable navigating different accounting standards, financial software (particularly Odoo).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • 5+ years in Accounting or Audit (Big Four preferred)
  • Strong in Lux GAAP / Spanish GAAP (IFRS a plus)
  • Experience with financial statements & consolidation
  • Proficient in Odoo and Excel
  • Team lead or mentoring experience
  • Detail-oriented, used to fast-paced environments
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
