Job Description
This 26 week opportunity is funded by Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations. Their goal is to help Canadian students to acquire, through jobs, the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for the heritage sector labour market, and to consider career choices in the heritage sector. The grant requirements must be met in order to be hired for this position (see below for list of grant-requirements).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Learning and Development Manager, the Instructional Design Intern will:
• Create interactive online learning courses and live programs for staff development, with the Learning and Development Manager as a mentor and coach
• Actively use the ADDIE Instructional Design Model and Kirkpatrick evaluation techniques in design
• Use a Project Management approach to plan and design live programs
• Assist with the creation and development of interactive online training materials, this will involve use of Articulate - RISE 360
• Transfer, upload and store training files into the Learning Management System (Totara) using MS Excel, PowerPoint and other software
• Assist the Technology Access Lead with the development of technology training programming as needed
• Edit recorded webinars to improve quality and accessibility
• Contribute to Learning and Development team communications by providing content, as well as editing and sharing information

Requirements:
• Read and write English
• Excellent communication skills
• Conflict resolution skills
• Demonstrated ability to provide instruction and training to others
• Experience in program planning and delivery
• Basic computer knowledge and skills including:
o Microsoft Office applications
o Willingness to learn and experiment with additional tools and technologies (ex: learning management system software, video editing software, YouTube studio, MS excel, Rise 360)
o Willingness to learn about and support others in learning technical skills and concepts
Assets:
• Previous experience helping people learn skills through active learning
• Using learning platforms or other types of learning software
• Certification in Adult learning, such as B.Ed, adult learning, CELTA/DELTA, ELL, Adult Literacy or CTP/CTDP
Applicants must also meet the following grant criteria:
• Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadian holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible;
• Legally entitled to work in Canada;
• Between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
• Willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment;
• Will not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) during the Young Canada Works (YCW) work assignment
