We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team with a focus on hardware quality assurance. This role will play a key part in managing and improving both incoming and outgoing quality processes, driving return materials authorization (RMA) and repair processes, supporting internal and supplier-side quality improvements, and contributing to hardware design efforts using Altium Designer.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Incoming Quality Control (IQC) on hardware components, ensuring conformance to specifications and identifying non-conforming parts early in the process.
- Perform Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) to verify product quality before shipment to customers.
- Develop and maintain inspection criteria, checklists, and documentation for both IQC and OQC activities.
- Oversee the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) process, including root cause analysis and corrective actions for both hardware and software failures.
- Coordinate and perform hardware/software repairs, liaising with relevant engineering and customer support teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Develop, document, and implement quality processes and procedures across internal operations and at supplier sites.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, supplier feedback, and internal audits.
- Collaborate with suppliers to enhance component quality, including audits and performance reviews.
- Provide support to the hardware engineering team in reviewing and improving electronic designs, particularly in Altium Designer.
- Participate in design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) evaluations to ensure quality is built into the product from the start.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in a quality engineering role within a hardware-focused environment.
- Proficient in Altium Designer or similar PCB design software.
- Strong understanding of electronic components, schematics, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with RMA handling and failure analysis.
- Familiar with quality standards (ISO 9001 or similar).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with software debugging in the context of hardware faults.
- EU Citizenship required.
