Our office in Niagara Falls, ON, is looking for a QC Inspector -- Feeder Cabinet Project to join our team. 

Summary of the Role

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Site Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for implementing, monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Company Quality policies, programs and practices in respect of the various and required codes and standards on company work projects and fabrications while working with Project Management for the successful completion of the project(s).

Key Responsibilities

  • Examines work to determine conformance with specifications and welding requirements.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints/drawings and job orders for workers.
  • Performs visual, dimensional and weld inspections.
  • May perform non-destructive testing on piping and BPV built to ASME/ANSI codes.
  • Material receiving inspections.
  • Monitors currency of welder qualification records and certifications.
  • Maintains inspection and calibrations records.
  • Verifies and records dimensions of fabrications using various inspection tools.
  • Coordinates activities for construction and installation to various Codes.
  • Ensures compliance with code standards and requirements 
  • Establishes procedures for testing welding of BPV and piping to code requirements.
  • Prepares inspection test plans for pressure vessels.
  • Presents and expedites solutions to construction/installation problems and testing procedures.
  • Compiles, analyzes and presents history dockets, data files & data reports (i.e. U1A forms, piping data reports, partial data reports).
  • Additional project specific responsibilities as required.
  • Adherence to 100% compliance to required codes.
  • Completion of weld and dimensional inspections.
     

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills

  • Completion of a college level diploma in Quality, Engineering or C.E.T is preferred.
  • CWB certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform inspection techniques.
  • Adept in the various Q.A./Q.C. codes.
  • Solid experience with the development of ITP (Inspection and Test Plans).
  • Experience in leading inspections and construction operations is required.
  • Experience working within a construction environment
  • Knowledgeable of, and experience working with ASME (Sec I,V,VIII,IX), ISO 9001 and CWB Codes/Standards
  • Excellent Communicator (both written & verbal).
  • Solid experience with the development of ITP (Inspection and Test Plans).
  • Experience in leading inspections and construction operations is required.
