The Role
Flint is seeking an experienced person with expertise in policy and regulation relating to technology to lead client accounts and contribute to the growth of our business. This role will be pivotal in delivering strategic advice and operational support to clients across multiple sectors, and in particular in the rapidly evolving fields of online safety, AI adoption and regulation, date use, digital infrastructure and cybersecurity.
You will drive client accounts, manage high-performing teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality services that exceed client expectations. You will also play a key role in business development, generating new opportunities, and expanding our tech policy practice. Experience and understanding of the policy and regulatory issues in an EU context is desirable but not essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Management: Lead day-to-day management of key client accounts, ensuring the delivery of top-tier advice on tech policy issues, and building long-term client relationships.
- Digital and Tech Policy Expertise: Provide strategic insights on a wide range of policy issues such as online safety, AI adoption and regulation, date use, digital infrastructure and cybersecurity, helping clients navigate these complex landscapes.
- Project Leadership: Oversee the management of client projects, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs. Supervise the work of junior team members, providing guidance and feedback.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to Flint's growth by expanding our client base. Work with senior leadership to create thought leadership material and present at industry events.
- People Development: Mentor and coach junior consultants, supporting their career development and building capability within the team.
- Strategic Contributions: Collaborate with senior leadership to shape policy strategy and ensure alignment with wider business goals.
What We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in tech policy and regulatory fields such as online safety, AI adoption and regulation, date use, digital infrastructure and cybersecurity, with a demonstrated ability to advise on complex regulatory and policy challenges in these issues.
- A strong professional background in government, politics, a regulator, consultancy, think tank, industry body or in-house public affairs roles.
- A proven track record of managing projects and leading project teams in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environments.
- Commercial acumen, with the ability to develop new business opportunities and deliver commercially viable solutions to clients.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise advice to senior stakeholders, both in written and verbal forms.
- A collaborative leadership style, with a commitment to mentoring and developing talent within the organisation.
- Experience and understanding of policy issues in an EU context is desirable but not essential.
