(Hybrid working role, between remote and office based)

About the Team

PPL’s Finance team manages the planning, organising, auditing and accounting for the company’s finances. They are responsible for all incoming and outgoing payments from PPL, including making over 100,000 payments to performers and recording rightsholders annually.

What you’ll be doing:

As our Financial Accountant you will report to the Finance Manager, your role will play an important part in ensuring all statutory and treasury requirements within PPL and VPL are met.

You will need to work closely with the rest of the Finance Department to ensure consistency and best practice is developed and maintained across the function, proactively driving the ongoing improvement of business practices.

As our Financial Account you will work co-operatively and positively with all internal departments, providing excellent service and support and advice where applicable so strong communication and organisational skills are required for this position.

At times external contact will mainly be with PPL’s Auditors, and various banking providers throughout the role.

Key Responsibilities will include:

PPL and VPL external reporting

• Prepare financial statements reports for review by the Finance Manager.
• Assisting the finance manager in facilitating the year end statutory audit through managing the audit timetable and the finance teams audit deliverables and sampling

Banking & treasury

• Cash flow forecasting - Review regular cash flow forecasting for short term and long-term investments
• Managing relationship with bank and other external contacts

Balance sheet reconciliations

• Prepare month end journals, balance sheet reconciliations for a number of accounts including all bank accounts
• Prepare quarterly high-level quarterly balance sheet summaries for finance committee reporting.

What’s you’ll need:

• Part Qualified/Finalist/Qualified currently working towards CIMA, ACCA, or similar qualification.

• A background of working within a Finance department in a commercial organisation for at least 3 years or alternatively a mix of practice and Industry experience.

• Management Experience

• Experience preparing and supporting the delivery of the audit of the annual financial statements, with a good understanding of financial reporting standards.

• Experience involving banking, balance sheet account reconciliations preparing financial statements, understanding and preparing cash flow forecasts.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail and good communication skills.

• Report Writing skills are also a requirement for the role and they should be comfortable analysing large amounts of data and reporting the results.
