Position Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and commercially aware Sales Proposal Engineer to join our Sales Department. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical and commercial proposals for both new and refurbished plant and equipment. As a key link between the business and its customers, you will play an essential role in supporting the company’s growth through effective communication, solution-based sales, and detailed proposal preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile in-depth technical and commercial proposals for new and refurbishment project enquiries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers via face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and emails.
- Develop and implement external communication strategies to drive customer engagement.
- Act as the main point, attending meetings and responding to communication from clients.
- Support the Sales Manager and Directors in setting and achieving sales budgets and targets.
- Contribute to growth strategies and company forecasting
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of company products, services, and technical capabilities.
- Conduct competitor analysis and market research to identify new business opportunities.
- Represent the business at events
- Prepare quotations and respond to technical enquiries from clients.
- Ensure all activities comply with company quality assurance systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management, planning, and organisational ability.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Customer- and service-focused with a commercial mindset.
- Confident with budget planning and sales forecasting.
- Data-driven approach to sales performance and strategy.
- Committed to ongoing personal development and continuous improvement.
- Previous experience in technical sales or engineering proposals preferred.
- Competent in handling complex technical enquiries and turning them into tailored solutions.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
