We are seeking a proactive and safety-conscious Terminal Operator to join our dedicated team at Huskisson Dock. Working as part of a close-knit group of 11 Operators on a 24/7 shift rotation, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and secure handling of marine fuel products.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, outdoor environment and is committed to maintaining high standards in health, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the safe receipt, storage, and transfer of marine fuel products.
Conduct cargo transfers between vessels and the terminal.
Blend products to precise specifications using in-terminal systems.
Perform tank gauging and assist with monthly stock reconciliations.
Maintain accurate digital records of all product movements.
Monitor and manage product temperatures to ensure quality.
Ensure all operations comply with HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Quality) standards.
Complete all required documentation for cargo movements.
Support terminal safety roles such as First Aid and Fire Warden duties.
Take pride in maintaining a clean and orderly terminal environment.
Essential:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Strong numeracy skills (e.g. calculating blend percentages).
Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
Experience working to strict Health & Safety protocols.
Comfortable working at heights (up to 16 metres).
A reliable team player who can also work independently.
Access to own transport.
Desirable:
Experience in ship-to-shore operations (COG – Chemical, Oil & Gas).
Basic understanding of engineering principles.
Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
First Aid and/or Fire Warden certification.
