Job Purpose
As PET Radiochemist you form part of a small team performing a critical function at at our state-of-the-art clinical trial imaging clinic based adjacent to Hammersmith Hospital in West London.
Your brief will be to support clinical studies by producing PET radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with GMP standards. You'll also provide vital support with investigations and in validating and implementing new products and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
To support day-to-day manufacture and dispensing of PET radiopharmaceuticals (mainly 11C and 18F) according to GMP standards using various automated radiochemistry/dispensing equipment and the completion of related documentation. Position does not include night work.
To support daily activities in the Production Laboratories.
To keep up to date with relevant procedures and policies.
To develop and validate new chemistry processes and manufacturing equipment.
General maintenance of production chemistry laboratories and equipment maintenance to reduce the rate of batch failures and associated production down-time.
To lead and support method development and implementation of new PET radiopharmaceuticals for human use.
Responsible for specific projects related to chemistry development and improvement including raising, completing, and managing change controls.
To train and educate others in their area of expertise.
To operate to approved quality standards by recording production quality related actions (e.g. deviations, change controls) in a timely manner, in order to comply with Perceptive policies and regulatory requirements.
To perform self-inspections/audits in line with Perceptive's audit program.
To facilitate continuous process improvement.
Essential Skills and Experience
BSc or MSc in a scientific discipline
Knowledge of GMP, relevant regulations and guidelines
Previous radiochemistry experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning
Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail
Ability to work methodically in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
Fluent English
