Key Responsibilities

The candidate will assist by orchestrating coordinated efforts of claims, operations, technology, and B&C along with other areas of CNA to ensure the right support is available to meet International Solutions objectives.

Expertise - Working with underwriting the individual will:

  • Be a Subject Matter Expert supporting underwriters in the development & retention of Controlled Master Programs through a thorough understanding & knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for local policies across all lines.
  • Review submission, applications and financial requirements to develop fully compliant and client focused multinational solutions.
  • Use all appropriate underwriting tools, disciplines and territorial & regulatory knowledge to ensure underwriting guidelines are adhered to.
  • Demonstrate technical skill through strategic, thorough account
  • Demonstrates knowledge of CNA’s products and appetite while clearly communicating International Solutions’ proposition.

Portfolio Management

  • Proactively work with underwriters during new business & renewal discussions (internal and/or external), providing insight into local policy issuance and premium payments, whilst highlighting any known complications.
  • Prioritizes time to optimise opportunities with underwriters, distribution and brokers relative to multinational knowledge inc. new business pipeline development.
  • Accurately interpret and enter data into ComPass relatively to new & renewing business and manage local policy requirements within CNA Compass.
  • Centralising all communication through you relative to account status & query resolution.
  • Maintain and process all relevant underwriting records accurately and efficiently incl. emails and documentation in account management systems for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Accurately input data into internal reporting tools to identify, track and manage MI relative to New Business and portfolio management goals
  • Monitor and ensure that all policies are correctly issued and processed as per instructed in Compass and within the Underwriting Authority granted within the team and escalating where not. 
  • Actively manage Underlyer Requests with approved Network Partners, keeping quotes and policy issuance within agreed SLA

Multinational Insurance Acumen

  • Actively engage and seek out training opportunities to further develop underwriting and multinational expertise.
  • Provide additional placement support & training to colleagues to achieve production goal through greater awareness of local market practice, underwriting guidelines and authority
  • Proactively deals with enquiries from Underwriting, Billing & Collections, Reinsurance, Claims
  • Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and ensure, at a level appropriate to the position that appropriate measures are in place to ensure this compliance.
  • Work within appropriate Underwriting Authority and follow escalation procedures, as determined by the International Solutions management team.

Internal & External Relationship Management

  • Build a good relationship with Brokers as a representative for CNA Hardy International Solutions.  Manage the responses to external queries from Brokers and works within SLA and escalation procedures where they do not have the knowledge to provide immediate answers.
  • Build and maintain good relationship with Underwriters, Fronting Partners, Operations and Network Team across the globe as a representative for CNA Hardy International Solutions.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues in other parts of the organisation, including Head Office, Risk Control, Distribution, Claims, Actuarial, etc. as needed.

May perform other duties as assigned.
