About the Role
We are looking for a talented Data Engineer + Full Stack Developer to help drive the next phase of Project Helios—our bespoke web application and data platform. This is a pivotal, cross-functional role where you’ll shape and implement our data strategy, working at the intersection of data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and full-stack development.
You’ll enhance data ingestion pipelines, build scalable data models, and ensure seamless integration into both Power BI and our React/Next.js web application. Collaborating closely with our Group Data and Technology Lead, you’ll help centralise client, revenue, and review workflows—powered by Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Development
- Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse.
- Model and store data using Delta Lake / OneLake, with governance and lineage via Microsoft Purview.
- Integrate third-party APIs (e.g. Intelligent Office, AJ Bell, Transact) into the platform.
Full-Stack Integration
- Collaborate with frontend/backend teams to expose transformed data via NestJS APIs.
- Embed Power BI datasets and visualisations into React/Next.js UI components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across data pipelines and application layers.
Cloud, DevOps & Governance
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Docker, and Git.
- Implement secure credential management and monitoring via Azure Key Vault.
- Document architecture, data flows, and technical processes across the stack.
Innovation & Collaboration
- Partner with analytics, architecture, and engineering teams to enhance data-driven product experiences.
- Continuously improve ingestion, modelling, and integration processes within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
What We’re Looking For
Technical Expertise
- Proficient in React, Next.js, NestJS, and Node.js.
- Strong experience in data orchestration, modelling, and integration into web applications.
- Hands-on with Microsoft Fabric (Pipelines, Lakehouse, Warehouses) and Azure services.
- Skilled in SQL (T-SQL preferred) and either Apache Spark or Python for data engineering.
- Experience embedding Power BI dashboards into web applications.
- Familiarity with data governance tools like Microsoft Purview and security best practices.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in combined full-stack and data engineering roles.
- Proven track record of delivering integrated, data-driven applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (essential); Financial Services or Wealth Management background would be an advantage.
- A degree in a relevant subject would be a strong advantage.
Personal Attributes
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- A “data meets product” mindset with excellent problem-solving ability.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, agile delivery environment.
- High attention to detail and personal integrity.
