About the
role
The EC&I Maintenance
Team is responsible for all aspects of maintenance and testing of EC&I
equipment at Galloway Hydros. As EC&I Team Leader, you’ll lead a small team
of technicians to carry out both routine inspections, preventative, and
corrective maintenance on hydro-electric generating plant and associated
equipment.
You’ll be expected to manage, lead and
direct others and self to work reliably and effectively with minimum
supervision while adhering to procedures, codes of practice, and safe systems
of work; including Statutory Regulations and the Generation Safety Rules.
Key to this role, is awareness and
management of risk coupled with a sound ability to evaluate operational
priorities; these are skills which are essential to ensuring that the sites key
performance metrics of high availability and incident free operation continue
to be met.
Who we’re
looking for
This role requires the
ability to work at height, in confined spaces, over water courses and outdoors
in all weather conditions.. You’ll need to hold a valid driving licence, and be
able to participate in a standby roster to provide response to call outs where
necessary.
You’ll have a background
as an EC&I Technician having followed an approved apprentice training
programme.. A HNC in a relevant engineering discipline is desirable..
You’ll need to have
extensive experience in the maintenance of electrical rotating plant, HL &
LV switchgear and instrument and control systems. Additionally, you’ll need the
ability to understand technical documents.
Good knowledge and
understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation is key for this
role.
You’ll also need strong communication
and team working skills, with the ability to lead a small team. Previous
experience as a people leader would be beneficial.
