What You'll be Doing:
- Inspect painted and shot blasted surfaces for defects, including coating thickness, adhesion, finish quality, and surface cleanliness.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of MEP modules, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Use measurement tools such as dry film thickness gauges, surface profile gauges, callipers, and other inspection equipment relevant to MEP modules.
- Verify compliance with relevant industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures for both surface treatment and MEP modules.
- Document inspection results clearly and accurately, including any non-conformities or deviations.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and installation teams to provide feedback and assist in resolving quality issues related to paint, surface preparation, and MEP modules.
- Conduct routine audits of surface preparation, coating processes, and MEP assembly/installation to ensure consistent quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, audits and corrective actions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control processes and improvements for both surface treatments and MEP modules.
- Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration is up to date.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to surface finishing, coating quality, and MEP module integrity.
- Ensure activities comply with health, safety and environmental regulations.
What You Need to Have:
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in manufacturing or construction environments, with expertise in paint and shot blasting/surface preparation and MEP module inspection.
- Strong knowledge of surface treatment techniques, paint application processes, and related quality standards.
- Experience inspecting MEP modules for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components against drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools such as dry film thickness gauges, micrometres, profile gauges, callipers, and visual inspection equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify surface defects, coating issues, and MEP module non-conformities.
- Good communication skills for reporting and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality documents.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
- Relevant certifications in quality inspection or coating inspection (e.g., NACE Coating Inspector Level 1 or 2) are a plus.
What You Would Ideally Have:
- In-depth understanding of various coating types and inspection techniques
- Familiarity with industry standards
- Awareness of quality management systems and their application to coating inspection
- Experience with material receipt inspections and verification of certificates and expiry dates
