Position Summary
Regional Sales Managers for African Travel, Inc. (ATI) are responsible for maximizing the sales potential within their designated territory by cultivating strong relationships with existing customers, driving brand awareness, and identifying new customer prospects. By effectively representing the ATI brand to the travel industry and the public, Regional Sales Managers strive for successful execution of their sales plan and achievement of their passenger objective and revenue goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales and marketing plans with accounts, using a customized approach to address their specific needs.
- Strengthen relationships and achieve growth with accounts through regular contact and informative updates with respect to their productivity and progress; help when appropriate to assist in achievement of their goals.
- Provide robust ATI training opportunities for advisors through weekly learning opportunities, client presentations, product information sessions and ongoing website and e-commerce strategies, escort familiarization trips for travel advisors as necessary.
- Ensure marketing collateral is utilized to its fullest potential; ensure ATI has prominent placement in key account agencies and effectively manage brochure supply and regional distribution.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Evaluate ROI of potential trade and consumer shows/events and participating were beneficial. Continually identify new shows/events that would be beneficial to the brand.
- Stay abreast of competitor information in designated territory and stay updated on trends within the industry. Provide feedback to the management team with respect to trends and opportunities.
- Ensure all requested sales reports are accurate, detailed, and submitted within the desired timeframe.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities in Salesforce, record training, appointments, tasks, customer feedback and other sales activities in a timely manner. Utilize data to provide useful information to travel advisors during every call and in regular e-mail communication.
- Actively seek out and foster group business; maintain contact with originating advisor from beginning of process, through to departure of the group.
- Manage T&E budget and co-op marketing funds in the most cost-effective manner, being mindful of company policies.

Requirements
Experience
- 3+ years of sales and customer service experience preferred
- 3+ years of travel industry experience preferred
- 3+ years of territory sales experience preferred
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint), webinar tools, and internet resources.
- Ability to adopt and learn new technologies and tools quickly.
- Proficient in Excel for managing and analyzing account data.
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM is a bonus.
- Must reside in a major city in the Pacific Northwest area i.e. Seattle, San Francisco, or Portland.
- Vision correctable to 20/20 with reasonable accommodation required. Ability to look at a computer monitor for long periods of time with reasonable accommodation required.

- Travel: Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required, and travel extensively throughout the territory. When managing a territory, overnight travel is required for up to 60% of the month to ensure adequate coverage. Some overseas travel is required. Able to produce a suitable automobile which will be used for business travel and have all legally mandated licenses.
- Home Office: virtual office space with adequate light and limited background noise required to work remotely and conduct online meetings.
