JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Brandywine Linguistics & Music Perception (BLiMP) Lab seeks research assistants (RAs) for projects exploring the effects of individual attitudes on interpersonal communication and cooperation. This is a part-time opening, typically 10 hours per week, paid at a rate of $15/hour.
Job Duties
Duties vary considerably from project to project, but may include:
Reading and discussion of relevant scientific literature.
Setup and proctoring of psychological experiments and interviews.
Supervision of research participants during group sessions.
Transcription and coding of audio/video recordings and other data.
Development and documentation of research procedures.
Administrative tasks (filing, equipment management, etc.).
Work will be conducted in the social science labs at Penn State Brandywine and via remote work. RAs work in small teams and individually. This role is well-suited for students or recent graduates in psychology, communications, or other social sciences. Experience with psychology, experimental design, quantitative or qualitative data analysis, and languages/linguistics is valued but not required. Successful completion of research tasks may lead to opportunities to develop original research projects.
