Location: Main office in Albuquerque, NM (Remote possible for the right candidate)
Project Engineering Manager for Utility-Scale Renewable Energy Projects

We seek an outstanding Project Engineering Manager who will will oversee Project Engineers and be responsible for managing the engineering aspects of large-scale renewable energy projects from the conceptual stage to final implementation, ensuring successful delivery in terms of cost, quality, safety, and timeline. The Project Engineering Manager will be a key point of coordination among cross-functional teams within the company and among subcontracted partners to ensure the successful implementation of solar energy systems. Your expertise in solar engineering and renewable energy technologies will be essential to the company's mission of advancing sustainable energy solutions. Ideally you will have a combination of design engineering and project engineering experience. Candidates experienced in geotechnical, structural or mechanical engineering are highly sought after.

Established in 2014, Gridworks is a leading EPC contractor for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. Primarily operating across the southwest, we are expanding into other regions. With 2 GW of solar and battery energy storage projects we are well positioned for continued success in the rapidly growing clean energy sector.
Job Responsibilities:

Oversee the design, planning, and implementation of utility-scale solar, BESS, substation, and transmission line projects.

Manage the technical and engineering aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Work closely with project teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.

Collaborate with procurement teams for material and equipment sourcing, considering cost-effectiveness and quality.

Perform risk management, identifying potential challenges and devising mitigation strategies.

Oversee all stages of the project lifecycle, including design, construction, commissioning, and handover.

Foster a culture of safety, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with the company's health, safety, and environmental policies.

Prepare project status reports and keep management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team.

Ensure continuous improvement by implementing the latest technologies and industry best practices.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position may lead a team of 10 positions within the Project Engineering Team.

Qualifications
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field; advanced degree or professional engineering (PE) license preferred.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector.

Proven track record in managing and executing large-scale engineering projects.

In-depth knowledge of solar energy technology, battery storage systems, grid integration, and associated regulatory requirements.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.

Proficient in relevant engineering software and project management tools.
