Job Description:

The Role
Analysts interact with numerous internal Fidelity business divisions, other broker dealers, correspondents and plan sponsors to ensure flawless trading, execution, settlement and record retention.
By supporting the Municipal Trading desk you will work in conjunction with the Underwriters and Traders on competitive and negotiated offerings and secondary trading support. You will assist in verifying deal details, uploading information both to external vendors/dealers and internal Fidelity Groups, facilitating deal set up to multiple channels, maintaining offerings on the new issue page on Fid.com, trade execution, daily position reconciliation, justifying P&L, settlement support and record maintenance.
By supporting the CD Trading desk you assist the Underwriters and Traders on deal set up and distribution of information both to external vendors/dealers and internal Fidelity Groups. It’s our responsibility to ensure seamless settlement and that all pertinent records are maintained for tracking, record keeping and analytical purposes.
You will assist with trading and provide support to correspondents and retail reps with Unit Investment Trusts UIT’s. This support typically entails taking incoming calls, supplying pertinent information such as prices, Cusip numbers, current trust’s portfolio structure, trade entry procedures, error corrections etc. In addition, you may monitor orders throughout the day for breakpoint adjustments, conduct a monthly UIT review and justify/process volume concession wires paid to Fidelity Capital Markets.

  • Facilitating the offering of weekly corporate note issuance, justify P&L, position reconciliation and record keeping for audit and analytical purposes.
  • Supporting Agency Traders with various underwritings/bond inventory, offer bonds to all Fidelity channels and maintain records of orders and executions.
  • Ensure timely settlement for secondary trade transactions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate allocation for customer allocations.
  • Assisting the equity desk with settlement support, various record keeping and audit inquiries.
  • Vigilantly and continuously trying to identify areas of improvement and be a part of developing the plan to implement change. This is a critical component to the role.

 
The Expertise and Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Series 7 and 63 (if not currently registered, such exams must be successfully passed within six months of hire)
  • Brokerage industry experience, preferably in trading or back-office operations
  • Work well and have demonstrated the ability to thrive in a fast paced trading floor environment.
  • You have a strong attention to detail, proactive and analytical.
  • Fixed income knowledge is preferred, but not required.
  • Bloomberg experience is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency with excel.

The Team:
Trade Support Analysts play an important role, working alongside Fidelity underwriters and traders to support critical functions for new issue products including Municipal bonds, Certificates of Deposit, Unit Investment Trusts, Corporate Notes/Bonds, and Government Sponsored Agencies.

The base salary range for this position is $52,000-$83,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
