Inside the Role

As a member of the Revenue leadership team, the Director, Regional Sales (West) participates in setting the strategic direction for the Revenue organization, and is responsible for the execution of the sales strategy for the assigned region. The position is responsible for financing and leasing new business acquisitions, and building and maintaining high-value dealer relationships. This role is responsible for business in excess of $600 million annually. The Director, Regional Sales (West) collaborates across departments to achieve the sales goals for DTFS.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a proven leader with experience in cross functional collaboration, strategic planning and inspiring teams to excellence. Successful execution of the role will require a candidate who is adept at understanding market trends, leading sales activities, managing a P&L, and developing strong field and customer relationships.

The candidate must be passionate about inspiring and developing people to top performance and will be able to demonstrate a history of creating a positive, empowered cross functional team environment working together towards a common goal. The final candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to receive and prioritize customer feedback in order to continually improve existing processes that ensure our business evolves and remains industry-leading.

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA

  •  Drive sales activities of all DTFS financial products in assigned region
  • Supervise team of 1 Key Account Manager and 5 District Finance Managers
  • Develop and nurture relationships with all Freightliner, Western Star and TBB dealers in assigned region
  • Promote sales of Freightliner, Western Star, FCCC and TBB products and liaise with key sales personnel from DTNA
  • Co-develop and implement truck sales strategy for DTFS
  • Collaborate with Chief Revenue Officer and Revenue Management Team to set a strategic direction for the Revenue team, which aligns with the DTFS mission, goals and values
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Marketing and Insurance in the development and roll-out of new products
  • Collaborate with the Insurance team to promote the sales activities of DTFS’ insurance agent (DTIA)
  • Develop top talent and continuously inspire direct and indirect employees in order to increase employee job satisfaction, empowerment and effectiveness
  • Manage and analyze budget to identify areas where expenditure can be optimized
  • Lead and optimize effectiveness of department with proper reporting and analysis of key performance indicators
  • Collaboratively drive continuous improvement activity

Knowledge You Should Bring 

  • Bachelors degree and 10 years of relevant experience is required, including 4 years of management experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience selling financial services
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in equipment financing / leasing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and tax treatment of leases
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US transportation market and DTNA products
  • Up to 50% travel required
  • An attached resume is required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • MBA or Masters level education is preferred
  • Experience in underwriting credit in equipment financing / leasing
