Job Description
The Demand Planning Lead Northwest Europe will be responsible for leading a new Demand Planning team for Organon France, Germany and taking care of Northwest Europe IBP region forecast. This position will lead 2 demand planners and report to the Associate Director of Supply Chain Operations. The position can be located in any of the Northwest Europe locations.
Demand Planning Lead Northwest Europe will coordinate, analyze and submit the monthly Demand Forecast for all products we supply into Organon France & Germany and support the submission of all the other products in Northwest Europe region. Besides this, you will be responsible to support and coach your direct reports with their demand planning responsibilities, helping them growth within the role and the company. This will make you the go-to person and main point of escalation for demand planning activities for whole Northwest Europe region. In total, you will be responsible for demand management of 2 countries (France and Germany) and accountable for the other countries in the region.
This function involves cross-functional collaboration and leadership for which you will be key player in guaranteeing its success.
Demand Planning Lead Northwest Europe will work together with various departments like Demand Fulfillment, local Commercial teams, Customer Service, and Finance which some of them are spread across the region. The team is a mixed of very diverse talent and levels, making the working environment a perfect place for new ideas and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a team of two demand planners.
Collaborate and provide guidance and support to other W&N DP/D&L experts
Own and improve forecast accuracy of whole region consistently.
Act as key contact and the first level of escalation for Commercial and/or customers at regional and/or market level.
Prepare and lead monthly Market Demand Review meetings (pre IBP) to update in-market and to-market forecast.
IBP Process Leadership, preparing meeting minutes and ensuring actions and follow-ups are made accordingly.
Collaborate building and presenting the sales projection, together with Demand Fulfillment representative.
Drive and enhance the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process across the Northwest Europe region, ensuring strong cross-functional alignment between commercial, supply chain, finance, and regulatory teams.
Lead regional demand review meetings, facilitate decision-making, and ensure senior leadership engagement in IBP discussions.
Collect and analyze business intelligence from market stakeholders in the 36 months’ timeframe.
Work closely with Commercial, Marketing, Regulatory, Finance, and Global Supply Chain teams to align demand plans with product launches, lifecycle management, and market trends.
Support new product introductions (NPI) by ensuring demand signals are integrated into the IBP process.
Identify gaps between financial plans and demand plans and act accordingly.
Ensure integrity of metrics to drive value to customer.
Maintenance of Business Value Segmentation and other forecasting parameters.
Collaborate with Business Managers and Customer Service to reduce discards.
Manage and proactively resolve escalated supply issues via effective coordination and communication in close cooperation with the relevant teams such as supply planning, transportation, factories, local commercial teams and customers.
Drive the dialogue each month with local Commercial, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Demand Fulfillment and Supply Planners to meet service level objectives with optimum inventory policy.
Support the demand aspect for product launches, new product introduction / deletion governance.
Streamline and standardize processes of the demand planning team.
Kick-off and lead cost savings initiatives and improvement projects
Be the backup of other demand planners when needed.
Role Requirements:
Bachelor– preferably Supply Chain Management or related discipline. Master of Science or MBA is a plus.
APICS CPIM or CSCP and / or Six Sigma certification is an advantage.
Demand planning expertise, preferably in pharmaceutical environment.
Experience in France and Germany desirable
Experience in IBP coordination and global demand management
Solid stakeholder management experience; proven ability to build, develop and maintain productive relationships with different stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills.
Highly organized profile with customer focus, proactive and problem-solving mindset.
Fluent in English (both written and verbal) and strong presentation skills with ability to effectively speak with senior management.
Microsoft Office expertise (advanced Excel skills is a must).
Planning ERP systems awareness (SAP S/4HANA experience preferred).
Be able to cope with high-pressure environment and able to sustain it.
Team player that is also capable of working independently.
Flexibility and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
Must be based in Switzerland, Germany, or France
