Clearance: This position supports a federal contract and requires U.S. citizenship or permanent resident (Green Card) status, as well as the ability to pass a background check.
- Visualization Platforms: Use Microsoft Power BI, Qlik or Tableau to create business intelligence visualizations.
- ETL: Use Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) solutions (Microsoft SSIS, Hitachi Pentaho) to create jobs to pull/push data from/to data sources and transform/manipulate them based on conditional logic. SQL: Write complex queries and stored procedures in T-SQL the encompass of permissioning concepts, indexing and data relationships between tabular data structures. Create Data Dictionaries and pertinent documentation.
- Analysis: Analyze requirements or existing systems, make recommendations on how to design, model or organize new database schemas necessary to help support or make visualizations for those applications.
- Data Warehouse Management: Manage NIA’s existing data warehouse being able to create, organize and document all applicable data relationships and views.
- Lead Meetings: Lead meeting sessions in support of the NIA Emerging Technologies Working Group to help educate staff on new developments or features in the BI space.
- 508 Compliance: Design Visualizations to meet U.S. 508 Compliance standards and modify or alter existing Visualizations to meet those standards.
- Communication Skills / Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with teams to iterate on ideas beneficial to the institute. Serve as a liaison between stakeholders to clarify and articulate application design and implementation.
- Troubleshooting / Analysis: Troubleshoot complex technical issues using tools to help debug and analyze data.
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or related fields
- Min 3 years experience as a BI Developer
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps
- Agile/Scrum development methodology knowledge/experience
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

- Salary range is $90,000-110,000/year. The salary range for this position reflects a variety of factors that influence compensation decisions, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
