Position Summary
Develop, maintain, or implement business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and solutions, including risk assessments, business impact analyses, strategy selection, and documentation of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures. Work across the business and technology organizations to ensure that plans are adequate to recover critical processes within acceptable timeframes. Plan, conduct, and debrief regular business continuity exercises and IT recovery drills to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies, update procedures and plans regularly. Act as a coordinator for continuity efforts after a disruption event.
Responsibilities:Essential Functions
- Develop and review disaster recovery, crisis management, or business continuity plans.
- Develop recovery plans for physical locations with critical assets, such as data centers.
- Assist Senior Business Continuity Planner in the coordination of continuity efforts after a disruption event.
- Assist in the development of emergency management plans for recovery decision making and communications, continuity of critical departmental processes to deal with organizational emergencies.
- Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business functions or information systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
- Coordinate testing of documented business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and plans.
- Write reports to summarize testing activities, including descriptions of goals, planning, scheduling, execution, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Create scenarios to reestablish operations from various types of business disruptions.
- Establish, maintain, or test call trees to ensure appropriate communication during disaster.
- Conduct or oversee contingency plan integration and operation.
- Partner with project teams to ensure that continuity is designed in all technology and business initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of business interruption and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
- Interpret government regulations and applicable codes to ensure compliance.
- Develop and implement awareness educational programs, conduct seminars and workshops as needed.
- Prepare reports summarizing operational results, or accomplishments of specified objectives, goals, or plans.
- Keep abreast of new developments and technologies related to disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Design or implement products and services to mitigate risk or facilitate use of technology-based tools and methods.
- Analyze corporate intelligence data to identify trends, patterns, or warnings indicating threats to security of people, assets, information, or infrastructure.
- Mentor and train junior team members.
- Work individually and on team projects in an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
- Be available on a 24/7 basis if needed.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
- Assist the Senior Business Continuity Planner as needed.
- Perform within the scope of responsibilities assigned and in a collaborative team environment as guided by leadership and the Senior Business Continuity Planner.
- Identify process improvement opportunities through collaborative team discussions, customer feedback and challenging the status quo.
- Lead cross functional teams towards a common goal.
- Manage, track, and report on multiple work efforts in parallel.

Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree required.
Licensure/Certification
- One (1) top IT certification (MCSE, Linux, UNIX, Professional Cloud Architect/Developer, CCNA, CISSP, Citrix, Cisco, C++, Java,
etc.). - One (1) business continuity and/or disaster recovery related certifications (ABCP, CFCP, CBCP, MBCP, AMBCI, CBCI, CBRIT, CBRA, etc.).
- ITIL Foundation certification
Experience
Five (5) years of IT experience working in large enterprise environments, including two (2) years of professional experience with business continuity or disaster recovery planning.
