Job Title: Referral Coordinator - Remote
Reports To: Sr. Revenue Cycle manager
Department: Billing
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review Patients’ insurance coverage for real-time eligibility screening, assessment of patients’
- financial requirements, and counseling patients on their insurance benefits and copayments
- Ensure all insurance, demographic, eligibility, and signature information is documented in the
- patient’s account
- Re-verify benefits
- Serve as a liaison between the patient and Family Allergy & Asthma
Education, Prior Work Experience, Special Skill and Knowledge Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- 3-year medical billing office experience, required
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of deductibles, copays, coinsurance, etc.
- Knowledge of insurance carrier guidelines, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (ICD-10 and CPT)
- Availity clearinghouse experience preferred
