Job Summary
JOB SUMMARYThe Head of Family Advisory and Trust leads the Private Bank’s estate planning division, overseeing the development and implementation of estate strategies for high-net-worth individuals, families, and business clients. This role ensures that estate planning services align with regulatory requirements, client needs, and the bank’s broader wealth management objectives.
Pay Range - $275,972 - $386,361 - $496,750
Job Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the bank’s Wealth Planning strategy.
- Lead a team of Wealth Planners.
- Collaborate with other departments, including private banking, and investment management.
Client Advisory & Relationship Management
- Serve as a key advisor for high-net-worth clients, offering customized estate planning solutions.
- Advise on estate planning strategies and Trust structures to optimize tax efficiency, asset protection and estate transfer.
- Foster relationships with legal and tax professionals to provide comprehensive solutions.
- Establish and manage selling agreement with third party Trust Company.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure estate planning services comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor industry changes and update strategies accordingly.
- Work with compliance and legal teams to mitigate risks associated with estate planning.
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Identify new business opportunities within the bank’s client base.
- Drive estate planning revenue growth by cross-selling related financial services.
- Represent the bank at industry conferences and networking events.
Qualifications:
- Deep knowledge of estate, tax, and trust laws.
- Strong leadership and client relationship skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Experience in a bank or financial institution is highly preferred.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of financial markets and investment strategies.
- Proficiency in portfolio management and asset allocation.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth clients.
- Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions.
- Analyzes and resolves problems pertaining to wealth planning
- Responsible for talent management functions including: employment, performance evaluations, staff development/training, disciplinary actions, succession planning and ensuring all staff comply with compliance requirements.
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
- Education level required: PhD Juris Doctor(JD) with focus on Estate Planning, Tax Law, and/or Trust and Fiduciary Law
- Minimum experience required: 10+ Years experience in estate planning, wealth management, or trust services.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education level preferred: Master's Degree (or Postgraduate equivalent) (JD required)

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proven leadership experience and the ability to manage a team effectively
- Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
