Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Hematology/Oncology Medical Director and the Regional Director of Cancer Services, the Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy Supervisor/Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) oversees the daily operations of the Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy, including quality and resource management, ensuring the achievement of overall organizational outcomes. This role also is responsible for overseeing all related patient care duties and responsibilities, provides oversight for staff pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and is available for staff coverage. This position serves on various committees and attends tumor board to provide pharmacy input for oncology patients.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Current State of California Registered Pharmacist License required.
- Doctor or Masters of Pharmacy Degree required.
- Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) required, or to be obtained within two years of hire.
- Advanced Practice Pharmacist preferred.
- *Must meet all DMV requirements listed below.
Knowledge:
- Minimum of two years supervisory required.
- Current knowledge of standards and regulations required by the Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission (JC), state, federal and local governing bodies.
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement techniques required.
- Experience with team building.
Skills:
- Experiences where leadership, integrity, initiative and effective communication skills demonstrated.
- The ability to meet and develop budgetary objectives related to the pharmacy.
- Proven knowledge and ability to apply management and supervisory principles and skills.
- Comfortable with regularly verifying and processing insurance eligibility and obtaining authorization requests, including verifying personal credentials with external partners to obtain this information (e.g., ID.me for identity verification for VA insurance coordination).
*Note: Requires employees to drive at least once per pay period. Candidates must possess and supply proof of: a current CA Driver’s License, a clean DMV printout and Auto Insurance coverage with a minimum of $50,000 per person/$100,000 per occurrence (or a combined single limit of $100,000) and property damage coverage in an amount not less than $50,000 per occurrence.
