Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for assuring an appropriate quality monitoring and evaluation program within the Maintenance Department in conjunction with the overall facility Quality Improvement Plan.
Additionally:
-Lead the organization in the implementation of a comprehensive safety program including being chairperson of the safety committee.
-Prepare department budget and manage within budget when approved. Supervise staff assigned to the department including decisions relative to hire, scheduling, evaluations, attendance, discipline and discharge.
-Establish and maintain a routine preventative maintenance program for all physical plant and equipment.
-Perform routine, maintenance and repair required to keep the building and equipment in good working order when necessary.
-Monitor building and equipment renovations, remodeling, or replacement projects done by contractors.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of one year of technical training in air conditioning, heating, plumbing,
mechanical and electric equipment generally used in health care institutions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Three years of maintenance supervision in a health care institution of comparable size,
knowledge of life safety, local state and federal codes.
