Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Limited Xray Technologist performs radiological functions under the supervision of a physician within the scope of the practice and according to established policies and procedures of the clinic and organization. Delivers age-appropriate care in a friendly, respectful and timely manner. Ensures the quality control of imaging equipment and exercises the utmost care in radiation safety of patients, visitors and co-workers.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Current CA Limited Xray Technician (LXRT) Permit required; includes chest, extremities and torso – skeletal.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics and proper positioning of patients.
Demonstrated proficiency in Computerized and Digital Imaging for Radiography Professionals if using digital imaging equipment is required.
Demonstrated literacy with computers.
Ability to communicate effectively and work compatibly with physicians and other staff members.
Demonstrated ability to work and remain calm under stressful conditions.
