What Will You Do?
The Psychometry Technician is responsible in assisting the psychologist and neuropsychologist by administering various types of tests. Tests include memory, IQ, achievement and personality inventories, among others. The psychometrist will also perform other administrative tasks, including test scoring and data entry, scanning, and ordering test supplies. The Psychometry Technician is dedicated to excellent customer service, enthusiastic about the care we offer, and foster a sense of belonging and empowerment in a diverse workplace.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer and score assigned psychological and neuropsychological testing following established standardization protocols.
May assist with the documentation of written reports.
Use behavioral management and other clinical skills to manage patients with neurological dysfunction and/or psychiatric symptoms.
May train/coordinate the training of new staff or existing staff on certain applications or procedures (e.g., students, psychometrists).
Creates a customer-friendly environment. Establishes/maintains mutually constructive relationships with customer (both internal and external). This may involve recruitment, serving as a liaison, determining the occurrence of problems, and the celebration of successes.
Evaluates/monitors the impact of program or process, recommending and implementing changes.
Facilitates and adheres to procedural guidelines to provide a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
Develops/maintains up-to-date record keeping systems, including data collection, data analysis and tracking related activity.
What Does This Role Require?
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field is required.
Previous clinical experience administering psychological tests is strongly preferred.
